The Love of Plants
This work was particularly interesting because of the extended use of personification. All of the various plants Darwin wrote about came alive as I was reading the poem. In our society, we do not see many similarities between the human race and plants even though we are both living beings. Darwin seems to believe otherwise as he gives the various plants human like characteristics and speaks of them as sexual beings. Everything must reproduce and he really emphasizes that. Even though plant reproduction is done in a vastly different way than human reproduction, it is still reproduction nonetheless and therefore similar.
