Collecting Memories
I also thought The Prelude was very similar to Tintern Abbey in that it seemed to collect events and memories of the poet's life. The recollection and celebration of Wordsworth's young life is interesting to think about and obviously shapes the way that he writes as a poet. The idea that Wordsworth uses his memories that are connected to physical object that he experienced in childhood can bring an entirely new perspective to his works.

I completely agree with your post. I also think that it's an excellent closing to the semester on Dr. Porter's behalf. I overheard some kids question why we were reverting to Wordsworth and I think that the process of recollection is exactly why. Our final projects will serve as a way to recollect our work throughout the semester as The Prelude did to Wordsworth.
