Lewis' tales are fun reads. Having said that, the women of at least the first three tales suffered horrible fates, it just reinforces the idea of a victimized female being deserving of her fate. These woman didn't just have bad luck but they lacked something that earned them some punishment. A little annoying especially because it seems to be a recycled notion in society.
This is really interesting and I think part of the reason it goes unnoticed is because its been part of society for so long. This can be said for scary movies and how there is always a lady damsel. I'm not sure why there always has to be a women suffering, but I agree I don't like it either.
