Poetry seems easier for me when it reads like a narrative and that's how I felt about "The Water-King". It almost seemed like a fairy tale with the use of king, knight and sweet love. "Believe not every handsome knight." "The Fire-King" also felt like a fairy tale to me, maybe even a damsel in a castle. Maybe a fairy tale mixed with religious perspective. A man on a journey to slay a dragon. Lewis was enjoyable to read for me.
