Lewis and the gothic

Lewis was really interesting to research. I enjoy the gothic genre and this type of literature seems to be something of a turning point. Lewis seems different even from The Last Lay or other narrative poetry in that it seems more focused on entertainment. The gothic is like the foundation of the horror genre, this is where we get the ticklish delight of all the racy, scandalous, suspense, scary.  The supernatural is also more prominent here than in other works that we have read and Lewis takes things further than his contemporaries. Tales of Wonder fits well with the class since it's a collection of works, many of which Lewis translated.

  1. I must agree, that Lewis' work was a nice change of pace from all the other works that we've been reading lately.
